These sponges are handmade using soft bamboo and gently exfoliating linen. Each fits in the palm of your hand and can be used for washing in the bath or shower or for cleansing your face.
Linen is a sustainable material that comes from flax - no part of the plant is wasted, and it naturally needs less water and fewer pesticides to grow than cotton. Bamboo is similarly an easy material to grow that doesn't require irrigation or pesticides and both bamboo and linen are naturally antibacterial. These sponges are filled with bamboo scraps which helps Helen's studio repurpose fabric waste.
Our eco sponges are handmade by Helen Round and her team in their studio in Cornwall. Each is screen-printed with Helen's own line drawings based on plants in her own garden.
Between uses, wring out your sponge to dry it and machine or hand wash it after a few uses at 40 degrees. If you like, you can add a few drops of tea tree essential oil to your wash to repel against bacteria and leave your laundry fresh.
Each eco sponge measures about 11 x 9 cm.
