These wildflower seed bombs (or Seedboms) are the simplest way of bringing flowers, pollinators and wildlife to unloved spaces. You can add them to a pot, your garden or drop them into any unused piece of land if you fancy some guerrilla gardening!
There's no need to plant a seed bomb. All you need to do is shake it, soak it in water and throw it onto bare ground. The case will split open on contact leaving space for your seedlings to grow. You can give them a water every now and then for a helping hand.
Choose from:
Pollinator Beebom - Create a buzz with nectar-rich cornflower, vipers bugloss, wild marjoram, red clover, borage and phacelia.
Foragebom - Grow a mix of edible hedgerow herbs including wild marjoram, borage, yarrow, wild carrot, meadowsweet, wild thyme and common sorrell.
Wilderbom - A pastel bouquet of yarrow, cornflower mixed, cosmos white/rose, candytuft, African daisy, poppy Shirley and Nigella mixed.
Urban Bloomer - For built-up areas, try easy-to-grow poppy, corn marigold, cornflower, forget-me-not, oxeye daisy, and red campion.
Butterflybom - Care for local butterflies with the nectar-rich wildflowers they love including musk mallow, cornflower, yarrow, oxeye daisy, red campion and forget-me-not.
Cornflower Fairy Lights - Create a patch of cornflowers in blues, whites, purples and pinks.
When can I use my seed bomb?
You can throw a seed bomb any time between March and June for flowers this year, or August to October for flowers next year.
How many seeds are in a seed bomb?
How much space does a seed bomb need?
There's no need to worry about plastic in each kit - they're entirely biodegradable. The shell is made from starch and natural fibres, the compost inside is peat-free and the seeds are non-GMO. The cardboard packaging is recycled. Eventually, the only trace of your seed bomb will be the colourful wildflowers left behind.
For best results, use your seed bomb within a year of purchase.
