Fill your home with the sweet, nostalgic scent of ginger and spices without even having to turn on the oven! We created our ginger cookie candle to help you create a feeling of home comforts wherever you are. Our aromatherapy candle is entirely natural, hand-poured with organic essential oils.
If you love the scent of ginger and spices, or a warm slice of gingerbread or, of course, ginger cookies, we made our candle for you. Our ginger cookie candle is also a cosy scent to light on grey days or when you're feeling low. We've blended in organic oils used in studies to reduce stress like sweet orange, palmarosa and bergamot.
I created this scent around the feeling of warm cosiness in winter with warm spices, ginger and perhaps a hot, mulled drink on the stove. While we love the scent of ginger all year round, we also created it with the festive season in mind as a Christmas gingerbread candle - you can add a free holly berry decoration all this season.
Ginger cookies scent
- Top Note: Sweet orange and bergamot
- Middle Notes: Ginger, juniper berry, cypress, palmarosa and nutmeg
- Base Notes: Cedarwood, cinnamon and clove
Light our ginger cookie candle and you'll first notice a sliced citrus sweetness of orange and tangy bergamot. The heart of this scent then follows with spicy ginger and a touch of nutmeg, grounded in woody juniper berry and cypress. Additionally, palmarosa adds a suggestion of sugary stem ginger and a touch of mulled fruitiness.
As the candle burns, you'll smell the base of soothing Atlas cedarwood, distilled in Morocco's Atlas and Rif mountains. We've paired this with cosy cinnamon and clove for a hint of warm spice.
Organic aromatherapy oils in our ginger cookie candle
When we inhale essential oils, they've been shown to help our minds and bodies relax, feel calm, well and sometimes energised. Here are the essential oils I've blended in our ginger cookie candle:
Sweet orange - A juicy, sweet scent that studies suggest may help soothe stress
Bergamot - A citrusy scent with a touch of floral sweetness you might know from Earl Grey tea, that may also help soothe stress
Juniper berry - A crisp, sweet wood scent that's been shown to help us sleep well
Cypress - An earthy, calming wood scent known to reduce feelings of tiredness and stress
Palmarosa - A sweet, rose-like scent that actually comes from a variety of grass and has been used to soothe feelings of stress
Ginger - An energising and earthy scent with sweet, zesty undertones
Nutmeg - A touch of warm spice that can lift our mood and perhaps even help our memory
Cedarwood - A soothing, woodsy scent that helps us feel calm
Cinnamon and clove - Comforting and nostalgic spicy scents
Sustainability
We make our ginger cookie candle with coconut and European rapeseed wax, which is the most sustainable vegan wax we’ve found. The coconut wax comes from family farms in Indonesia and the Philippines, helping to avoid deforestation. Our growers also train in sustainable coconut farming to protect existing forests.
We hand-pour each candle in our Cardiff workshop, using rose gold tins that are infinitely recyclable and partially made from recycled materials.
Ginger Cookies is one of our first candles made with organic essential oils. We chose organic to support farmers who care for nature and the soil. Essential oils require more plant material than fragrance oils, which is why we offer both.
And because we really think this… If you have an aromatherapy candle, the most sustainable way to enjoy it is by being present. Savour the scent and all the natural materials and care that have gone into making and growing it.

Candle care
To make the most of your candle, allow the wax to form an even melt pool before blowing the flame out. If there's a little wax around the edges, don't worry. It usually melts down in the final burn. Don't leave your candle burning for longer than 4 hours. To keep it clean, trim your wick to about 5mm each time you light it. You can use your candle to set aside a space in your home (however small) to relax in, reflect or mark a transition in your day.
How we choose fragrance
We make our candles with either fragrance oils with no parabens or phthalates, or organic essential oils.
Fragrance oils are lab made with often nature identical compounds. They have a greater hot throw and can minimise the land needed to grow natural materials.
Organic essential oils are grown in a way that respects nature and the soil. Their scent is more gentle and may have aromatherapy benefits.
We make both so you can choose the scents that are right for you and fit with your values.
